Boardgames in Terracotta by Flaÿou
The design is inspired and adapted from the traditional art craft of Sejnane’s pottery in Tunisia.
The potters of Sejnane have been working clay for over 3,000 years. Their traditional cooking techniques are the origin of this soft and primitive craft.
Chich-bich means Backgammon in Tunisian Arabic, hence the name we’ve picked for this collection. We imagined the design of each piece by trying to emulate the allegoric and sweet shapes of the potter ladies’ traditional craftsmanship.
Flaÿou is a design studio founded in 2016 by Tom Egoumenides and Hella El Khiari. In 2021, I'm leaving the studio for new solo adventures.
